it's a beautiful life

Hola! A short post for a short card...

I suppose this would be a scrapling since I cut it this piece off of a regular size card to get my square hot air balloon card collection, but I don't really like to call it that unless it's really slim...I'll just call it a "not-e". ;)

Anyways, I apologize for the terrible pics,...I don't really know what happened...

For Allsort's button challenge, Ann's Creative Nook,
Little Red Wagon

Supplies: Stampin Up! cardstock, Webster Pages catalog, ribbon, button, chipboard, white souffle pen

Yes, all the patterned paper in this, except for the cream behind the main focus, is from Websters Pages catalog...definitely into this recycling thing. ;)

My sewing machine is going bonkers for some reason (the thread is going seriously wacko),so I'm doing faux stitching for the time being...I really don't like how it looked on this card...{sigh}. You win some, you lose some.

Anyways, have a nice day and thanks for stopping by! :)

la vie est bonne

Hello all! I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving! I had a fun one; here are a few photos I took in one of those rare, quiet moments...

(sorry, the brilliant blue of the sky can't be seen through this dirty car window)

Now for a card I made using this weeks Raspberry Suite color challenge....

Supplies: Websters Pages, Stampin Up! cardstock, buttons, thread, ribbon

I got the idea from a fellow flikr member - basically stole the layout of it, and made it mine...I "scraplifted" it, I believe is what you would call it, right Angie? ;)

Anyways, I'll have a similar card for you tomorrow or the day after, so if you like this one, you might want to stick around. :)

Also, I would like some advice from you scrappers out there: what is the best place to go online shopping for paper (i.e. Cosmo Cricket, Bo Bunny) this black Friday, sale crazed weekend?

Thanks for stopping by!

Sympathy

Wowsers, ladies! I've gotta hand all the DT gals of La-La Land Crafts, Paper Blooms, Just Us Girls, Stamp Something, S2G challenges, YNS, and Quixotic a HUGE thanks! 20 comments - totally not used to that even if that is something normal for other bloggers. ;)

Anyways, today I have a sympathy card {I know, not the greatest topic for a card when I'm so happy}. I was looking through my 125+ card stash when I realized I didn't have any decent sympathy cards. So I decided to make one, going with this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch and Creative Belli Challenge (my chipboard is what I used to make the sentiment pop up, instead of paying for the foamies),

{trying out a new form of listing supplies}

Cardstock: Stampin' Up! white

Patterned Paper: Websters Pages "Postcards from Paris"
Stamps: unkown
Ink: unknown
Accessories: Souffle white and blue pen, chipboard, pearl ribbon?

So, like I said, this is only a decent sympathy card...I like bright fun cards, which obviously aren't suitable for this kind of topic, so this was rather a challenge for me.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by! :)

An elegant birthday

A sweet card to share with you today...

(yes, this is the card whose little sneak peek I showed you ;))

Supplies; Websters Pages "Postcards From Paris", Making Memories "Noteworthy", ribbon, button, Sugarloaf sentiment, Ink It Up! black, thread, white card base.

This is definitely a recycled card in the way that I used the receipt from Websters Pages (a very pretty pink) to make the paper ruffle, and that the bottom striped half of the card came from the back of their catalog they sent along with the paper. Pretty nifty, if I do say so myself. :)

For sweet yet elegant cards, "Postcards from Paris" is probably my favorite line to use...their shades of pink, cream and blue are spot on! Admittedly, I haven't used their "Sweet as Cherry Pie" line often (fine, only once), but I just don't feel like using it during these winter months...the weather does reflect on the cards I create, colorwise. These pinks, blues and creams are almost icy in a way, so they work with me. ;)

Anyways, this was made for Simply Scrappings ruffle challenge (LOVE IT!), Danni's Dream challenge, and Practical Scrappers challenge...

Gotta go rescue some smoking chicken!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

thanks

Hello!

Today I have card that is PACKED with challenges; so many blogs are having a "thanks/thank you" theme challenge, rather appropriate because Thanksgiving is just around the corner. With this in mind, I tried to think of a card I could use with my Hiedi Grace fall themed paper, but it wouldn't come to mind...just this bright card, rather the opposite of fall except for the leafy part...;)

Supplies: American Crafts designer paper, Friendly Forest, card base, ribbon, Ink It Up! black, Hero Arts stamp, thread, kraft paper.

Are you ready for all the challenges used? {takes a deep breath}; Hero Arts "Use Trimming", Lalaland Crafts "Thankful", Paper Blooms "Thank you", Just Us Girls color challenge, Stamp Something "Thank You", Quixotic challenge "Kraft and Red", SC2 sketch and twist, and finally YNS "Be Thankful". Woo! How's that for piling the challenges on? Now, I want to extend a BIG THANK YOU to all these blogs DT and sponsors - I love you gals! ;)

Another volleyball match today...Blue vs. Gold. The teams are made up of select senior highschool volleyball players in the area, and my sisters was selected, so it's gonna be a busy night...

Anyways, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! :)

note

Another scrapling for you...just seems I can't get them out of my head. Hopefully I'll have a non-scrapling for you next post. ;)

For a Color Dare #43...

Supplies: Websters Pages, Stampin Up! cardstock, Ink It Up! ink, Michaels dollar stamps, ribbon, thread

It also serves as a bookmark...

Can't you just guess what the title of the book is? ;)

Today is my younger brothers birthday, and guess what he wanted from me as a present?  A baby card. Yes, you got that right, a baby card. One of the golf teachers at the local golf range is going to have a baby boy, so that's why he asked for it...

{sigh}...today has been pretty eventless so far...just a dreary day. I'm hoping I can get a regular sized card made today though, but my to-do list is very long...and this gloomy weather isn't helping. :(

Hope you're enjoying better weather wherever you are, and thanks for stopping by!

Bundle of Joy

Another sketch today... I didn't pack too many challenges into this one though. :)

Supplies: DCWV sticker, Websters Pages reciept (the pink paper), chipboard, ribbon, Stampin Up! white cardstock, gems, brown ink.

Yeah, not incredibly inspiring, but it is what it is. I was determined to use those stickers, and the KSS challenge provided just the inspiration for that....the card is sweet...in it's own little way...;)

I think I may have lost my mojo for a little while since I've been on such a cardmaking roll...{knock on wood}.

Oh, and before I forget, thanks everyone for the well wishes for my sister as she begins volleyball. She charmed everyone at practice...she's too darn cute to resist. ;)

Anyways, thanks for stopping by! These comments really do mean a lot to us bloggers. :-)

dream big...

Hey all!

For this weeks Taylored Expression sketch and Daring Cardmakers challenge

Supplies: Websters Pages "Postcards from Paris", white cardstock, Sakura Souffle white pen, unknown brand metal.

I don't know if you can tell, but the metal embellishment has "dream big" written on it...it was rather hard to get a good pic of it.

I found out from browsing around card challenges, that there is an actual definition for scraplings...well, kinda. You see, I thought they were just cards in the dimension of the above scrapling...oh well.

Today is a big day for my younger sister - she's starting volleyball with the local homeschool group. All I can say is this is going to be pretty interesting....;)

Anyways, thanks for stopping by and taking time to leave a comment! :

A Message for You

Hey again!
Only a small project today, but it comes with a tutorial! :)
My little sour cream container with yummy Starburst's inside...

Supplies: K&Company "Berry Sweet", Stampin Up! white cardstock, Sugarloaf stamp, Scrappy Cat ink, ribbon

Made for Stampin' B's challenge, Whimsy Stamps challenge, Pollycraft challenge, and also for my friends over at Simply Scrapping.
It was fun making, but rather difficult to photograph...this picture does it justice...I think...I hope...;)

Here is the short and easy tutorial over at my tutorial blog....let me know if it's too confusing or you find some mistakes. Hopefully I got it all in. :)

Another thing I want to talk to you about, is there any other projects or techniques you would like to see me write a tutorial on? I'm sure I can think of some, but I'm doing it for you, so it really wouldn't make any sense if you're never going to use the tutorial...you know what I mean?

Anyways, thanks for stopping by!

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket "Earth Love", white cardstock, chipboard, scrap paper, American Crafts rub on, Sakura Souffle white pen.

I've really been starting to use this line a lot more, so beware! ;) Next time I post I'll have an elegant birthday card for you....here's a sneak peek..

Jammin' challenges

Hello all!
Jamming more challenges together today. It's been so long since I've participated (camera problems), it seems I just can't get enough challenges! :)

So, for this weeks SSPC color challenge, Card Patterns sketch, Color Throwdown AND Our Creative Corners photo inspiration, I present to you...

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket "Earth Love", cardstock, brads, brown ink, Sugarloaf stamp

Just a little something I put together...I'm trying to think of a name for this size card (I've done several of them), since the scraplings seem to be a big hit...

Anyways, just wanted to let you know that you might not be seeing me from Tuesday afternoon till Saturday evening, as I'm going over to help a friend with her twins, who were born in July. She's already got two rowdy little girls, a three year old and four year old, so she's going to need all the help she can get! Hopefully I can post pictures of the cuties when I get back...who knows how long the camera will last? ;)

P.S, DT gals, LOVE this color combo! CP gals, I just wanted to let you know you're my favorite sketch site to go to...sketches that don't limit my creativity by being too busy. Thanks!

With Love

Hey all!
First time I've participated in a challenge other than Simply Scrappings in a LONG while; darned camera broke out. But I guess it was a blessing in disguise, because our new camera looks better, acts better (doesn't shut off on us at random times), and takes better pictures.
So here are the two cards I made...

For the Quixotic Challenge "Birthday" and Paper Blooms "Blue, Orange and White"

Supplies: DCWV "Sweet", white cardstock, green cardstock, Scrappy Cat green ink, Sugarloaf stamp, ribbon, Sakura Souffle white pen

Supplies: Making Memories "Noteworthy", buttons, twine, ribbon, cardstock, thread, Sugarloaf stamp, Joanns Essential Ink

I gotta tell you, adding buttons on my cards are DEFINITELY out of my comfort zone...but this looks okay. ;)

I don't know if you've heard, but these two are what I call 'scraplings'. I had square pre-folded cards, cut them down to standard size for other cards, and then was stuck with these little bits. So, I saw a photo of two beautifully stamped cards, and the creator called them "scraplings". Thus, scraplings. ;)

Another announcement, I've started a second blog dedicated to tutorials. I've just started it, so their is only one post, but if you need help with sewing, I may be able to help you...here is the link.

Have a great day!
